Construction Work on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal

April 16, 2008 - Press releases

Nature of Work and Timeline

Montreal, April 14th, 2008 - Gaz Métro undertakes construction work at specific locations on St-Laurent Boulevard, between Sherbrooke Street and Mont-Royal Avenue. Work will start on April 14 and should be completed by May 15, 2008.

This work is required to make repairs and maintenance work on natural gas service lines of certain buildings. Work will be confined to specific locations and will only affect some sections of the street. About forty service lines need repairs, as part of a maintenance and prevention program.

Gaz Métro started this prevention program last year. After discussions with representatives of the Infrastructure Department of the City of Montréal in the fall of 2007, it was agreed that Gaz Métro would postpone the completion of the work in the spring of 2008 and complete it before the definitive conclusion of the reconstruction of the St-Laurent Boulevard.
